Włodzimierz Szymanowicz : ウィキペディア英語版 | Włodzimierz Szymanowicz
Włodzimierz Szymanowicz (1946-1967) was a Polish painter and poet. Son of Jadwiga and Kazimierz Szymanowicz, was born on September 3, 1946, in Wrocław (Poland). His mother was from Polish aristocracy, his father was of Jewish descent. Szymanowicz died in Warsaw, at the age of twenty and a half years, on March 4, 1967. Today he is known mostly for his poems, including one which had provided lyrics to a popular song, composed years after Szymanowicz's death (''Zaproście mnie do stołu'', which won an award at the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole in 1974). However not a single poem by him was published while he was alive. Many of his poems have survived, and were published posthumously, mainly due to the tireless efforts of his mother.
